Ah, summer! We yearn for it for 9 whole months, and it goes by quicker than we would like. We want you to take advantage of the last remaining days of sunny and warm weather. We have compiled a list of the best activities to do before the summer ends. So, grab your BFF and start a list of your own! Check them off as soon as you complete each one. Your summer will end with amazing memories and stories to share! Here are some ideas to get you started:
Dance in the rain
Like that famous quote by Vivian Greene goes, “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass…it’s about learning to dance in the rain.” While it may be a metaphor, no one says you shouldn’t actually do it! I can’t think of anything more freeing than dancing during a warm summer storm with my friends.
Build a sandcastle

When was the last time you built a sandcastle? Probably not since you were young! Let’s bring back this fond memory when you’re at the beach this summer. Get creative with it and you’ll remember just how fun it is.
Go on a picnic
Grab your friends, family, or significant other, pack up a nice and delicious meal, a picnic blanket and head over to your local park! Nothing better than eating a meal with the people you love in the fresh air while watching the sun set.
Build a campfire and make s’mores
There’s nothing not to love about this summer camp staple. Build a fire in your backyard and sit around it with you closest friends while you talk, tell stories, and maybe even sing some songs. Bonus: you get to make s’mores! Make sure you have graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate.

Homemade popsicles on a hot summer day? Yes please! To top it off, you’ll make it yourself which is fun and healthier. All you need is a popsicle mold and and your favorite ingredients and you’re ready to go.
Visit a farmer’s market
Farmers markets are a healthy and fun way to pick out groceries for the week! Find out where your local farmer’s market is and go!
Gaze at the stars
Take a second (or an hour) to lie down in your nearest park, your backyard, or maybe the beach and just gaze a the stars. How peaceful does this sound? Don’t forget to make a wish if you see a shooting star!
Go to a baseball game
‘Tis the season for baseball! Sport your team on the in-trend baseball cap and a maybe a hot dog or two at the game. Bonus points for catching a fly ball!
Visit a museum
You have so much free time this summer so go check out that art exhibit you’ve been dying to see! This is the perfect rainy day activity.
Build a birdhouse
Why not do a classic wood shop project while you’re at it? Put your creativity skills to the test! Maybe even have a competition with your friends to see who makes the best one. One of the perfect activities to do before the summer ends!
See a movie at the drive-in theater
Who wants to sit a stuffy (and expensive) movie theater when you can just drive up to one in your car? These warm summer months are the perfect time to try this old school tradition. A great date idea too!
Ride a roller coaster

Amusement parks are always a fun time so go grab your closest friends and make a day trip out of it! Roller coasters are obviously the go-to there but grab some cotton candy and play some fun games, too!
Visit a water park
Too hot for an amusement park? Water parks are a fun solution to that problem! Zip down the slides in your cute new bathing suit.
Pick berries at a farm
Picking in-season berries will be a fun way to get fresh produce and fresh air!
Go on a hike
Grab your BFF and take a hike into the great outdoors! You never know what you might stumble upon.
Take a mini road trip
Why stay at home when you have all summer to do that? Have all your friends pitch in money for gas, make a fun driving playlist, and just go!
Make fresh squeezed lemonade
Who doesn’t love refreshing lemonade during these warm summer months? It’s easy to make too! All you need is lemon juice, sugar, and water for this delicious summer drink.
Sleep in a hammock
Take advantage of one of the few times you can sleep outside! Hammocks are comfortable, too. Don’t forget to use bug spray, though!
Read a book outside
Sometimes you just need some peace and quiet. Take your latest read to your backyard, the beach, a park, or wherever!
