Caprese Salad

This is a simple and delicious dish consisting of just fresh tomatoes and mozzarella for your Valentines Day recipes!

  • One, 6 ounce ball of fresh mozzarella
  • 3 large ripe tomatoes
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Basil leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 cup of balsamic vinegar

Mix the balsamic vinegar and honey together in a small saucepan, bring to a boil, lower heat, and simmer until the mixture reduces to about 1/3 cup. Then set this aside to cool.

Next, slice the tomatoes and place them on your favorite platter. Slice up the mozzarella  into circles to match your tomato slices and then trim the mozzarella with a knife to make heart shapes. Layer the tomatoes, clean basil leaves, and mozzarella on the plate. Drizzle with a little olive oil, sprinkle some salt and pepper, and spread the balsamic reduction over top. Use the basil leaves to garnish.

Heart Shaped Wedge Style Salad

  •  1 head of iceberg lettuce
  • Crumbled bacon
  • Diced tomato
  • Your favorite blue cheese dressing
  • Blue cheese crumble
  • Optional: One to two hard boiled eggs

First, remove just a few leaves from the head of lettuce and place them on serving plates. Then, slice the head of lettuce and place it on the plated leaves slightly off center to create the heart shape. Top your bed of lettuce with crumbled bacon, diced tomato, crumbled blue cheese, and the blue cheese dressing. If hard boiled eggs are your jam, add those on top too!

Heart Shaped Ravioli Pasta

Need we say more?! If you’re not the type to make this one from scratch, thats ok! You can find pre-made heart shaped pasta and ravioli in grocery stores, local Italian food markets, or online – especially during Valentine’s season. Simply boil your pre-made ravioli and serve in a warm bowl with your favorite red sauce on top and a sprinkle of parmesan, of course. Make sure not to serve too many of these at first since there’s still more to this love feast for these Valentines Day recipes!

Petite Filet Mignon

Serve a delicious petite filet mignon with hearts of palm to finish off the main course. Select two 6 ounce filet mignons from your local grocery store and don’t forget a can of hearts of palm. Season the meat to your liking then grill, broil, or pan fry. Heat up the hearts of palm, and serve!

Heart shaped brownies drizzled with caramel sauce. Mmmm! So simple and just the right ending to an amazing meal. Prep this dessert by making your favorite brownies, from scratch or from the box (we won’t tell!) the night before or earlier in the day. Once they’ve completely cooled, carefully cut into heart shapes or use a heart shaped cookie cutter. Finally, plate your heart shaped brownies and drizzle with warm caramel sauce. You can even top with pecans, or walnuts if desired!
