Natural Skin Moisturizer

Finding the perfect moisturizer for your face can be a tedious task, especially if you have sensitive skin. Sometimes you might not be aware of an allergic reaction to a product until days after using it, which results in hundreds of dollars wasted on beauty products that once looked promising. Using coconut oil as your daily moisturizer is your best option! When warmed, coconut oil becomes liquid. After washing your face before bed, apply coconut oil as you would a normal face moisturizer. You could either sleep in it or remove any excess with a cloth. You can also use coconut oil in place of your expensive makeup remover products! Just add some to your face (preferably with a cotton ball) and rinse. Coconut oil will tackle even the toughest makeup products!

Shaving Balm

Coconut oil is a great organic shaving cream! Your usual shaving cream probably has so many chemicals in it, so why not use a more natural product? Coconut oil will hydrate and heal your irritated skin leaving it soft and refreshed.

You definitely didn’t see this one coming! Coconut oil is a great replacement for your highlighter. Take a very small amount of it and put it on top of your makeup. Place it where you normally would when strobing and contouring such as your upper cheekbones, bridge of your nose, and inner eyes.

Under Eye Cream

The skin under the eyes is more sensitive and delicate. It’s prone to puffiness, wrinkles, and dark circles. Instead of spending money on expensive eye creams, consider a more natural option. Apply coconut oil under the eyes after washing your face. Make sure to warm up the coconut oil in your palms before you apply it. After a couple applications, you will notice smoother, brighter under eyes!

Chapped lips don’t stand a chance against coconut oil! Remember that your lips are also skin and should be moisturized just like your face and body. You can add coconut oil to your lips while applying to your face, or take a teaspoon and apply with your finger. The hydrating properties in coconut oil will leave your chapped lips feeling smooth and soft. Also, coconut oil can be used to combat seasonal cold sores! Apply the oil to your lips using a q-tip to help diminish and calm cold sores.

Cleans Teeth

Coconut oil is a great natural product that can keep your teeth and mouth clean! Take some coconut oil and swish it around your mouth for 20 minutes. This is called oil pulling. It may seem a bit harsh but the benefits are definitely worth it! This will eliminate germs, whiten teeth, give you fresher breath, and healthier gums.

Skin Disease

If your skin is discolored, or you have a skin condition like eczema or psoriasis, coconut oil is the cure you’ve been waiting for! The natural ingredients found in coconut oil help alleviate symptoms with its anti-inflammatory properties. Since coconut oil is a great moisturizer, it helps to tackle skin that is flaky and/or dry. Coconut oil is anti-fungal too, due to its antibiotic properties. Apply on athlete’s foot or skin fungus and leave it on until completely absorbed by the skin. You’ll be surprised how much better your skin will look after just one application.

Scalp Moisture

If you have a dry scalp, don’t splurge on medicated shampoos and conditioners. Instead, apply coconut oil! Heat the bottle while in the shower, so the coconut oil becomes a liquid. After shampooing, apply a generous amount from the scalp to the tips. Leave in for about 5 minutes, then rinse. Your hair will be strengthened and moisturized! For styling, add a pea sized amount to your palms and apply to dry hair to prevent frizz. Another added benefit of coconut oil for your skin is that it combats dandruff! Coconut oil will leave your hair shiny, smooth, and moisturized!

Body Scrub

Many brands have products that promise baby smooth skin through exfoliation. Most of these products, however, contain chemicals that will inflame the skin. Luckily, you can create your own body exfoliate at home with coconut oil! Mix a teaspoon of sea salt or brown sugar with coconut oil to create a body scrub. In the shower, rub the mixture on your arms and legs using your hands or a washcloth. Dead skin will instantly be removed, and you will end up with skin that is baby smooth!

Sunburn Relief

With summer come trips to the beach with friends and family. After a long day in the sun, your skin will feel the result of the UV rays by turning red and dry. To soothe the skin, you opt for applying moisturizers that contain aloe vera. These moisturizers still contain other chemicals that could upset your skin. To prevent your skin from becoming inflamed even more, apply coconut oil! Its natural anti-inflammatory properties will reduce redness, while its hydrating components will moisturize your skin.

We hope you learn to love coconut oil as much as we do! This miracle oil is doing wonders for our health and saving us the big bucks.
