Best Donuts in NYC

There’s nothing more disappointing than biting into what you thought would be a tasteful journey, but turning out to be just a plain, dry donut. If you’re about to delve into a delightful treat, then the flavor has to be out of this world. I know what you’re thinking. I must be crazy for being this passionate about donuts, but when I want to indulge in a snack, I want it to be worth it. So let’s get to the point! Check out some of my favorite donut shops and cafes in NYC that will not leave you disappointed.

Underwest Donuts

Let me start by saying that it may seem weird to stop at a donut shop inside of a car wash on the West Side Highway and expect to be blown away with savory flavor. We can all agree on this, but chef Scott Levine will quickly change your outlook with his delectable treats and carefully crafted donut menu. From maple waffle to pumpkin ginger, you can be impressed with the flavors these donuts acquire. Remember the best places are the ones you’d least expect, so go head down to 638 W 47th St as soon as possible!

The Doughnut Project

Head over to the Doughnut Project, located on 10 Morton Street between 7th Avenue South and Bleecker Street in the West Village for a sweet and savory creation paired with a laid back atmosphere. With a constantly changing menu, you will never find yourself bored of these donuts. These small-batch, hand-crafted treats will satisfy your cravings while sending your taste buds on a journey!

Peter Pan Donut & Pastry Shop

A donut shop that has been around for 65 years has to be good, right? Peter Pan Donut & Pastry Shop has no intentions of closing down any time soon due to their regular customers, eager new faces ready to indulge in their savory treats, and people who just want to enjoy a nice donut and conversation. Apple crumb, blueberry cake, and honey dip bowtie are just some of my favorites amongst many others that will have you wanting more. (It is hard to just have one). Head over to 727 Manhattan Avenue between Meserole and Norman Avenues in Greenpoint, Brooklyn to have a donut experience you will never forget.

Doughnut Plant

This shop has a long menu full of donuts worth exploring. You can chose from yeast, cake, or filled donuts that come in an assortment of flavors. These sweet treats pair nicely with your morning coffee! Head down to any of the Doughnut Plant’s four locations in the Lower East Side, Chelsea, Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, and in Long Island City, Queens.

Take a trip to 448 Franklin Avenue at Lafayette Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, and 14 West 19th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues in Flatiron to experience these amazing donuts.
