Drinking Water Made Easy With These 3 Tips

Raise your hand if you drink 8 glasses of water a day? Let’s be honest. None of our hands are up. If you are like me, then you are more likely to grab that Starbucks coffee or Snapple than a bottle of water. While it is okay to have coffee and iced tea, it is important that you are also drinking enough water. Since it is so hot in the summer, you are more likely to sweat and lose water which increases your chances of becoming dehydrated.

Here at Faviana we don’t only want to keep you up to date on the latest fashion trends and fashion tips, but also on health and wellness information so you can be your best self! While drinking water might not be your top priority, here are some tips we have collected to help you sneak water into your diet that are both easy and delicious.

Eat Water Dense Foods

Did you know that some of your favorite foods consist of water? Watermelon, strawberries, cucumbers, celery, zucchini, and plain yogurt are just a few of the many foods that contain a large amount of water. Watermelon is made up of 92% water and is one of the most refreshing foods to eat while relaxing poolside. Strawberries are made up of 91% water and are the perfect addition to fruit salad and frozen yogurt. Although cucumbers can help to create the perfect facial, they are also full of water and vitamins such as magnesium, Vitamin K, and potassium. Not only are these foods water dense, but they also taste delicious making it more enjoyable to sneak water into your diet.

Add Flavor To Your Water

One of the reasons most people don’t prefer to drink water is because it doesn’t really have any taste or flavor. An easy way to give water flavor is to add some fruit to it. Some of the most common fruits that are added to water include oranges, strawberries, lemons, and limes. Not only will this give your water more flavor, but it is super easy to do. Just chop up tiny pieces of your favorite fruits, toss it into a pitcher of water, and stir. If you want to get the most flavor from your fruit, I would recommend letting it settle for 5-10 minutes before serving. While you are still drinking water, giving it a little flavor goes a long way when it comes to staying healthy and hydrated.

Drinking With A Filtered Water Bottle

While New York has some of the best tap water, not all places are provided with that luxury. When I lived in Florida, the tap water was absolutely disgusting and therefore I barely ever drank water. This is a problem many people face in places that don’t have the best tap water. An easy way to solve this problem is to buy a reusable water bottle with a filter. Although most reusable filtered water bottles cost between $25-30, this is ultimately an investment in your health. Brita is one of the many companies that sell filtered reusable water bottles that help to reduce chlorine taste and odor as well as remove other contaminants that are commonly found in tap water.
