New York Fashion Week Spring 2017: Trends

New York Fashion Week is the best time to see all of your favorite celebrities and styles all in one city. From wild, original details to classic looks, Fashion Week gives us a glimpse into what we can expect in fashion for the coming year. From color trends to design trends, here at Faviana we have gathered our favorite details from Fashion Week Spring 2017. We have also pulled inspiration from the runway and noted the Faviana Prom dresses that are perfectly on trend for prom 2017!

Many Shades of Yellow

Rue Now

Yellow has been a color of choice this week for several designers, from bright, neon yellow to a toned back, dusty shade. The sunny color is perfect for the upcoming spring weather, and it is getting us excited for the much anticipated Beauty and the Beast premier! Yellow is the perfect color to stand out at prom, and Faviana has the perfect gown for you. With a floaty skirt, gorgeous embroidery and beading on the bodice, Faviana Style S7997 is the perfect yellow gown.

Ruffles on Ruffles

We love the the vintage glam effect that ruffles give. Cascading ruffles add volume to skirts or sleeves, and this look was seen on countless runways this week. Looking for a touch of ruffles without overwhelming your look? Try Faviana Style 7950, which features a perfect sweetheart neckline that is balanced with flowing ruffles along the side.

Boho Florals

Florals usually show up at any spring Fashion Week, but this year they had a distinctly boho vibe. The key to this trend is to know the perfect ratio of flowers to solid prints, and to keep the look simple without heavy accessories. Faviana Style 7946 is perfectly flowery, but maintains its cool-girl status with a sexy thigh slit and deep-v neckline.

Two Piece Dresses

Popsugar

Always on trend fashion icon Rihanna took one of this seasons trends to the Grammys this month, rocking a two piece couture gown right in the middle of fashion week. A fitted, halter style top evened out her full skirt, and she even tied in season favorite: a pop of papaya. To channel your inner badgal, rock Faviana Style 7962 for prom and make a bold statement with a satiny and pleated full skirt, and fitted halter style top.

See Now Buy Now

While it is not a style trend, the see-now-buy-now trend is a major aspect to fashion for the upcoming year. This new Fashion Week philosophy is centered around eliminating the the wait time between when looks are seen on the runway, and when they can be purchased in the store. This new take on fashion is being adopted by more major designers as the season goes on, and it is receiving very positive feedback.

The key to rocking any trend at prom is confidence! Take inspiration from the runway or from Fashion Week’s hottest actresses or models to make any look completely you.
