Probably the most important advice we can give you is to plan your prom look beforehand. You have everything you need right in front of you, but placement and matching is key. In order to know which hairstyle, makeup look, and jewelry will go best with your dress, you need to experiment first. Make an appointment with your stylist to do trials so you know exactly the beauty look you’re going for the day of. If you’re completing the look yourself, then give yourself time to play around beforehand. The day of prom is already going to be stressful and busy, so let yourself have one less worry by being prepared and knowing exactly how you’re going to put yourself together the day of.

Prom Styling Advice: Book Appointments

With that being said, you’re going to need to book your beauty appointments well in-advance. Prom is a busy season, so you don’t want your favorite place to be booked up already. Some appointments to check off your list is for your hair, makeup, nails, and skin. If you decide to do everything on your own, make sure you give yourself plenty of time. You can also have help from your friends and family, so see if they are available as well! To keep your nails, tan, and other looks fresh, be sure to schedule this a day or two before your prom.

Prom Styling Advice: Match Your Dress

At the end of the day, it’s all about your dress! This is the biggest piece you are wearing, so you want to make sure everything matches your dress. Be aware of the undertones, and ensure that your prom shoes, accessories, and nails are all the same shade. This also includes the right hairstyle and face makeup to enhance your features and showcase every detail. Additionally, you should not only match your dress, but your prom date as well. It’s important to coordinate what your date is going to wear beforehand to ensure they compliment your dress, too.

Prom Styling Advice: Don’t Over-Do It

It’s easy to get carried away when styling yourself for prom. To avoid over-doing it, stick with the necessities. Start by pairing your prom dress with your chosen shoes. If your dress already has a lot going on like Faviana Style S10061, then stick to the minimal. This includes small jewelry and a simple hairstyle. If your dress is more on the plain side like Faviana Style S10055, then this gives you more freedom with adding extra shine and accessories. Use your best judgement when it comes to this!
