Summer Fashion Trends

After a long, cold winter, it is really great to lose the coat, pack away heavy sweaters, and get outside. That being said, I just love summer clothes! Everything about the styles, colors, and fabrics bring me joy. I’d probably describe my look as girly, flirty, and fun, and summer fashions never fail to deliver. Leading into summer 2018, there are a number of summer fashion trends that are quickly catching on and simply put, they are must-haves!

Palm Branch Prints

palm trees summer fashion trendsPalm trees are always reminiscent of beautiful, tropical places with swing branches, sun, sand, and the sound of waves and laughter. This season, palm branch prints are showing up on bathing suits, cover ups, tee tops, rompers, kimono jackets, and summer dresses. One of my favorites is the dress shown in this picture. How cute are palm prints for summer brunch, summer dates, and vacation? Not going on vacation? A cute palm print item will easily lift your spirits and bring summer to you!

Floral Summer Fashion Trends

There are all sorts of Bardot-style tops, loose summer shifts, and two piece short sets featuring the prettiest of flowers.

Romper Styles

Rompers as a clothing item have been around a few summers, but this year, designers have really taken the look to a new level. There are really cute spaghetti strapped styles, sleeveless, cold shoulder, long sleeve, and more. Some feature low-cut fronts or backs, others more demure. Many of this year’s styles have little floral prints or embroidered patterns. What I love best is how a romper can be dressed up for a party or dressed down and worn for a more casual look. Take any romper and try it with a sandal, a heel, booties, or flats and you will see how versatile the look can become!

Little Check Patterns

Checks summer fashion trendsThis season, little check patterns are turning up and looking just so cute. These little checks are fun and rather fresh after a winter of plaid looks. They are popping up on rompers, jumpers, and cute summer dresses and skirts. One color combo that is particularly trendy is a yellow-gold that looks like the checks captured rays from the sun. The look though is little checks, not plaid. Go ahead, give them a try!

Model Off-Duty

summer fashion trendsIt is summer, and it is time to put away the sweats! It is easy to look cute in something “just thrown on” if you go for the model off-duty look. A few of my favorites are silky, loose fitting, pull-on pants with a stripe down the leg, and snaps that open for a really flirty feel. There are great two-piece options with crop tops, and even strapless one piece jumpsuits that all look so put together. This look is fresh, simple, and a really great alternative to sweats and leggings.
