4 Tips for Tropical Makeup

2018.02.06

There’s always room for change in our skin care and makeup routines. Even though we may love the warm weather and endless amounts of sunshine, long days spent in the sun can do a number on our physical appearance. Since there are plenty of outdoor activities to partake in during these months, Faviana wanted to deliver you some makeup tips on how to achieve a perfect tropical makeup look without the stress of being sabotaged by our friend, “Cake Face.” Whether you choose to wear makeup everyday or only for special occasions, here are some simple makeup ideas for achieving a tropical look that we hope you will enjoy!

Tip #1 For Tropical Makeup: Primer

For those of us who typically use foundation in our makeup routine, using a primer is step 1 to achieving a flawless face! Whether you have oily, dry, or combination skin, it is always important to prime your face before applying any type of makeup. A primer preps the skin for coverage. Some primers minimize the appearance of pores, prevent your skin from becoming oily, or simply just elongate the longevity of your makeup. Finding a way to make your makeup last longer is always a benefit, especially in the hotter months.

Tip #2 For Tropical Makeup: Sun-Kissed Glow

Unfortunately, not all of us were born to bask in the sun. Some of us burn easier than others and have to avoid the sun as much as possible. When a suntan is not achievable naturally or you simply want to highlight your features for a subtle look, add a bronzer to your face! Apply a bronzer using a wide, fluffy, powder brush to the areas of the face that the sun would naturally hit (top of the forehead, top of nose, cheekbones, and jawline). If applied evenly, you will achieve a natural and flawless sun-kissed glow! Top off this look with a flick of mascara and some lip balm.

Tip #3 For Tropical Makeup: Bright Eyeshadow

Sometimes all you need is a pop of color! Have fun and accentuate your eyes with a bright eyeshadow or eyeliner. Keep your skin as natural looking as possible and let all eyes focus in on yours! Choose a hue that contrasts with your eye color to achieve the most bold eye look. Also, try not to coordinate your eye makeup with your outfit too much, for in this case, less is more.

Tip #4 For Tropical Makeup: Bold Lip

A bright bold lip is the perfect addition to your face, especially if you are in a time crunch! Wearing a bright lip is a quick fix when it comes to turning a daytime look into an evening look. It can also be worn as an alternate way of adding a pop of color to your face or as an additive to a pastel or bright eye shadow you may already have on. Bright colors are definitely a great way to tackle a tropical makeup look!

We hope that you have found these styles helpful for your next event! May your tropical makeup looks be flawless in even the most tropical of weather!
