Here at Faviana, we are all about celebrating and empowering women. We know it isn’t always easy to stay motivated and positive in a world that is not always the nicest. Over the past few days, I have been feeling pretty blue and have been looking at inspirational quotes to help me get past these dark moments. While you might feel alone with your struggles, know that there are people out there who are rooting for you. Here are some quotes that I like to read when I am down to help me feel better and my hope is that they can do the same for you.
Walt Disney – Inspirational Quote
Feelings of depression usually make people feel hopeless and lethargic. It is with this mentality that easy tasks become more difficult and the drive that we once had to overcome challenges fades. If you are like me, then you usually talk about how you wish you had the energy to get out of bed and do something when you actually could be doing something. While this is easier said than done, just achieving one little thing from your to-do list is a step in the right direction. Walt Disney had a dream to create an amusement park for families which he had talked about, but it isn’t until he started doing actual work that he achieved his goal.
Martin Luther King Jr. – Inspirational Quote
Sometimes when you are feeling depressed, thoughts can arise such as “What I do doesn’t matter” or “Someone else can do it.” I can’t even begin to express how many times I have had this mentality and it literally makes doing anything such a challenge. If you change your perspective to that what you are doing is going to help at least one person, then it might make you feel like what you are doing is actually worthwhile. Next time you see someone in need, whether it is helping carry groceries or sparing some change, you will be surprised with how much better you feel even if it is only for a few minutes.
Carol Burnett – Inspirational Quote
Last but not least, it is important to remind yourself that you are the only one that has the power to change your life. While there are doctors and specialists that can provide you with information and medicine to help you feel better, it is ultimately up to you to implement those changes into your life. A lot of younger people have the mentality that “Oh, someone else will do it,” but that is not the way to approach life. If you let life passively flash before your eyes, what is the point? You want to be active in your words and actions making them count not only for you but for others on this earth. One of the hardest things in life is to admit that you need help, but once you realize that there is a problem then finding the solution becomes easier.
While looking at inspirational quotes might help me, I highly suggest talking with a mental health professional if you feel that your struggles are interfering with your ability to function in your daily life.
