2017.10.15

If you’ve got a sweet tooth, then Halloween may be your favorite holiday. On top of the endless amounts of candy, there’s hundreds of other treats just waiting to be made. Here are some of our favorite Halloween treat recipes to try this month!

Halloween Treat Recipes: Sweet Pretzels

What’s not to love about sweet and salty snacks? You get the best of both worlds with these easily customized pretzels. Perfect for baking for beginners!

  1. In a microwave, melt baking chocolate, then stir until smooth.
  2. Dip each pretzel halfway into the chocolate, allowing excess to drip off.
  3. Place the pretzels on waxed paper and let stand until set.
  4. While you’re waiting, melt candy coating in the microwave, stirring until smooth.
  5. Dip the pretzel tips into the coating, allowing excess to drip off once again.
  6. Lastly, decorate the pretzels with sprinkles and let them sit.

Make sure to store them in an airtight container, or get to eating right away!

Halloween Treat Recipes: Candy Bark

Delish

Candy bark is perfect for using all of your favorite candies and cookies, and transforming them into a delicious treat.

  1. First, line a long baking pan with foil, greasing it with butter.
  2. In a microwave, melt your own candy coating, stirring until smooth.
  3. Spread your creation into the prepared pan.
  4. Sprinkle with the ingredients of your choosing, pressing into the candy coating.
  5. Let it sit for about 1 hour, then break or cut the bark into pieces.

This can also be stored in an airtight container, or served right away.

Halloween Treat Recipes: Pumpkin Pops

These pumpkin pops are the cutest homemade rice krispie treats you’ll ever eat.

  1. In a large saucepan, combine marshmallows, butter, and salt.
  2. Cook and stir over medium-low heat until melted.
  3. Remove from heat, then tint it orange with red and yellow food coloring.
  4. Stir in cereal.
  5. With buttered hands, shape the mixture into pumpkins.
  6. Insert a wooden pop stick into each pumpkin.
  7. Cut and use candy to create the stems, vines, leaves, and faces.

Decorating gel and Tootsie rolls work best for these!

Halloween Treat Recipes: Witch Hats

Match your witch DIY Halloween costume to these cake-filled witch hats.

  1. Cover the top of a fluted tube pan with a double layer of heavy-duty aluminum foil.
  2. Using a skewer or paring knife, poke holes in the foil, making one hole in the center and the rest of the holes around it, about 2-1/2 inches apart.
  3. Gently insert an ice cream cone in each hole, leaving the top 1 inch of cone above the foil.
  4. Prepare the cake batter according to package directions.
  5. Spoon 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon of batter into each cone.
  6. Bake at 350° for 14-16 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, then cool in the pan on a wire rack.
  7. Spread chocolate frosting onto the center of each chocolate wafer, cake side down.
  8. Finally decorate around the cone rims with orange frosting.
