Self-Care: How to Take Care of Yourself in the Busiest of Times



Whether it’s school, work, or a combination of both, there always seems to be a lot to do and not enough time to do it. In this busiest of times, taking care of one’s self seems to be at the end of most people’s to-do lists, if at all. However, you will be shocked by how much happier and more productive you will be if you just take a few minutes out of your day to relax and rejuvenate. Faviana is all about spreading beauty and light from the inside-out. But, you can’t do that from an “empty vessel.” Although me-time can look different for every individual, to help get you started, here are a few of my favorite ways!


Journals are fantastic. Honestly, get a journal and make it your new best friend. You can rant to it, share your secrets with it, express your feelings with it, brag about yourself…The list is endless! Getting your thoughts, feelings, etc. out on paper can give you a new perspective on things and make a seemingly overwhelming situation, not quite so overwhelming. It can serve as an outlet to get all of your thoughts (good and bad) out of your head and give you some space to sort them out and work through them. Sometimes, all you need to do is vent. Grab a  journal and get writing!

Get Crafty!

Whether you like to paint, draw, or color, getting crafty is such a great way to wind down, push any stressors in your life aside, and have fun! Some of my favorite ways to let my creative juices flow is to rip up magazine and make collages, paint canvases to hang around my room, and color in adult coloring books (if you don’t have one, you NEED to go get yourself one!!!). Go for a walk

Sometimes simply getting a breath of fresh air can really calm your mind. I wouldn’t recommend taking a brisk walk for exercising purposes, but rather a mindful walk where you can really breathe in the air and take note of the beauty all around you, that you may not notice during your hectic day-to-day schedule.

Paint your Nails

Painting your nails is such a nice luxury that not only makes you feel extra cute, but can also help you relax. I love to get creative and draw designs on my nails! You can also invite some friends over, throw in some face masks, lots of chocolate, and it’s a nail painting party! Wondering what color to go for? Okay, this one has to be my all-time favorite. As ridiculous as it may sound, it works. Go in your room, shut the door, blast some music, and rock out! For a few minutes, forget about those homework assignments due the next day or the drama with your friends and allow yourself to be silly and just have fun! Don’t worry about what you look like or if you’re doing certain moves incorrectly, just let loose! This is not only super fun, but great exercise and way to get your endorphins going! Just try it and you will feel 10000% better afterwards, I promise! While you’re at, put on your favorite Faviana dress and feel fabulous while you jam out.
