The spring 2020 heel trends have really come out with a bang. The infamous Mary Jane’s are back and in different variations. The platform trend is continuing, and it has gotten even better (I need to go shopping)! Shoes are one of the best ways to see what is really trending each year. Here are the top 5 shoe trends of the season!
Platforms
If you’ve always wanted height without wearing those sky high heels, you better hop on the platform trend ASAP! I love platform shoes because they give you the height without feeling like you’re going to break an ankle walking down the street. Comfort meets stylish with platform heels so you can walk around all day in them and rock your look without worry!
Abnormal Heel
These heels are to die for and such a great twist on footwear. I’ve seen different heel designs before, but now designers have decided to use life like objects as the heel. I love how the Alexander McQueen heels pictured above feature a beautiful geometric flower. Jacquemus did the same style of heel last year, but this year, more designers are hopping on the trend of making the heel transform in to whatever they dream it to be.
Mules
Mules came back in to popularity about 2 years ago and they aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. I particularly love the grid patterned pair pictured above because they have a street chic feel to them (plus pink)! Mules have really taken over the spring 2020 heel trend with most brands taking mules and transforming them to fit their collection’s vision. Whether they are square toed or pointed toed, there is a pair for any kind of outfit!
Kitten Heel

I remember when I bought my first pair of kitten heels last year, and I literally couldn’t even walk in them. I have been so used to wearing normal 4 inch heels that these threw a curve ball. With that said , kitten heels are a fun new way to spice up an outfit. Wearing regular heels all day at work or even walking around in general can be a pain. Therefore, kitten heels can solve that problem by giving you a super low rise heel that is tolerable all day long!
Mary Jane’s
Mary Jane’s are a classic style that is having a major moment for spring 2020. On the left, there is the classic Mary Jane, but on the right, is a more modern style with the heel reminding me a little bit of Amina Muaddi’s heel designs. The strap across the instep is what makes the shoe a Mary Jane, and I think they are the best for a timeless heel. Sometimes my heel will slip up in normal pumps, so having that strap is a life saver!
