#1: Naturally Lighten Your Hair with Honey
Simply mix together a cup of raw honey with olive oil, vinegar, and cardamom. Let it sit for 30-60 minutes, then apply evenly onto wet hair with a brush or comb. Cover your hair with plastic and allow the honey to sit for at least two hours before washing it out.
#2: Naturally Lighten Your Hair with Lemons
All you need for this are some lemons or lemon juice. Dilute half of it with distilled water, and it works wonders for dark blond or light brown hair. Plus, it won’t leave any reddish tones!
#3: Naturally Lighten Your Hair with Vinegar
If you crave reddish highlights, then try raw apple cider vinegar mixed with 50/50 distilled water. You can spray this, apply with a cotton ball, or brush it on for natural highlights. Just leave the product on for 30 minutes, then rinse out and dry as usual.
#4: Naturally Lighten Your Hair with Chamomile Tea
Chamomile is great to lighten darker hair. Simply brew a really strong cup of chamomile tea and wait for it to cool down. Then apply it to your hair for 30 minutes. Go out into the sun and let it dry, then wash it out and style as you please.

Chop up some rhubarb and place it in 2 cups of boiling water. Strain the juice, and let it cool for a few. Apply this mixture to your hair and leave on for 10 minutes. Then, wash it out really well! Rhubarb contains pectin and will get sticky if left on your hair too long.

This can be directly mixed with egg yolks or your conditioner. Add enough cinnamon powder to make a thick paste, and then massage it into your hair. Leave it on for 3 hours or more, depending on how rich you want the color to be. After you wash it out, you’ll be left with soft, silky, lighter hair.

On very dark brown or black hair, henna can lighten and leave reddish highlights. Use henna powder in 1/2 cup of boiling water, let it sit for 12 hours or overnight, then apply it to your hair. Wait 2-3 hours before washing it out well, and you’ll have a natural glow!
#8: Naturally Lighten Your Hair with Vitamin C
Take 5-9 ordinary Vitamin C tablets, and crush them into your shampoo. Lather your entire head with this mixture, and wait at least an hour before washing it off. Condition as normal, and see a boost of color as your hair dries.

This is one of the simplest ways to naturally lighten your hair. All you have to do is dissolve 1 tablespoon of salt with 1/2 cup of warm water, leave it on your hair for 15 minutes, and rinse out. It’s like swimming in the ocean at home!
#10: Naturally Lighten Your Hair with Baking Soda
You can also make a paste with 1/2 cup of warm water and baking soda to lighten your hair. Apply the paste to your hair and leave on 15-20 minutes. Check your hair to see what it looks like. If you are happy, wash it out. If you want it lighter, leave it on for a bit longer!
Multiple applications of these ingredients may be required before the results are evident. The best part is that they are all natural products and are totally safe, so keep trying to get the desired summer color!
