As prom is coming up quick, some of you may be getting a bit nervous. Between potential wardrobe malfunctions and a hair crisis, there are a lot of aspects to be prepared for. The key to a stress-free, fun prom is to have some tricks up your sleeve! Packing your clutch with back-up makeup, a tide-to-go stick, and an ability to just laugh it off are just a few of our stress eliminating tips. Here are Faviana’s best ideas for Prom Survival Tips and Tricks!
Unfortunately you simply can’t account for every single situation that may occur, but a good attitude always goes a long way! Prepare as best you can, and laugh through the rest.
Organize in Advance
Give yourself some peace of mind by squaring away logistics as early as possible. Call and book your hair appointments as soon as you can, and make sure you have your car rental set up as well. Also, remind your date to get out and get his tux so you don’t have to worry about it! The day before, set out everything you need in your room so you are able to start getting mentally ready as soon as you wake up.
Bring a Spare: Everything
Flutter and Sparkle
Packing a few essentials in your clutch is key to surviving prom. Bobby pins and mini hairspray are your best friends to keep that updo, up. Tide-to-go is also a must have for your clutch, and can save an accidental spill. Oil blotting papers are also great to use before reapplying any makeup, use one to touch up on breaks from dancing.
Hydrate
This applies to before and during prom! It is easy to forget to drink water when you are excited or nervous. Make sure you are drinking water the whole day leading up to prom, and bring a bottle to your hair and makeup appointments. At the event, make sure to have a few glasses of water at dinner, and don’t forget to eat enough to give yourself energy to dance the night away!
Take a Break
Prom is very exciting, but that excitement can also be tiring! If you start to feel stressed or tired during the night simply excuse yourself for a moment. Step into a quiet hallway or room and give yourself 5 minutes to breathe and re-group. Also be sure to avoid drama at prom! You want to have a great time with friends and focus on dancing and making memories, so stay away from potential drama causers.
Have Fun!
This is the most important part of prom! Don’t stress the small stuff, don’t take yourself too seriously, and most importantly celebrate yourself at prom this year. Make sure you take pictures to memorialize the night, not just selfies!
