Awards season came to a close all too quickly. February 24th presented us with the last show of the season, and naturally, a parade of all of our favorite red carpet beauty trends. Much like fashion week style, award show makeup can be a bit extreme. Yet still, celebrity looks can still be a rich source of inspiration, no matter how intense they may be. Best of all, they can be a easily recreated from home! From prom night to girl’s night out, these hassle-free red carpet beauty trends are sure to turn heads.
Glow Baby Glow

A glamorous glow goes a long way when it comes to pulling a makeup look together. Though it may seem like the highlighter trend only includes blinding pigments, red carpet highlighters tend to be more subtle and sophisticated. Highlighting and contouring takes a page out of the book of painting by using lights and shadows to shape the face. To master this artistic method, sweep a shimmering powder on the high points of your face with a fan brush or small fluffy brush. The top of your cheekbones, brow bone, cupid’s bow, and bridge of your nose are the key areas to pinpoint. Glow Letters Highlighter by BECCA Cosmetics is the ideal product for a gorgeous bronzy glow. To lock in the product and make sure you don’t get too shiny, set your makeup with Colourpop’s matte setting spray.
Bronzy Babe

You don’t need your own personal glam squad to rock a stunning eyeshadow look. Many starlets have opted for hazy bronze styles when walking the red carpet that can be recreated easily with the help of a good blending brush. To sport this trend, start by generously applying a taupe shadow in your crease. Next, apply a dark brown shade on the outer third of your lid. Blend the dark brown into the taupe before applying a shimmering bronze shade on the inner half of your lid. Finish off the look by smudging dark brown eyeliner onto the lash line and water line. Remember, when it comes to eyeshadow, blend, blend, blend! If you don’t have the tools for the job, check out Deck of Scarlet’s customizable metallic palettes and longwear eyeliners.
Lashing Out Loud

Hollywood stars seem to agree on one thing: when it comes to lashes, more is more. A good lash moment can crank your makeup up a notch, and luckily, achieving celeb caliber lash volume is easier than you may think. Once you’re comfortable with your eyeshadow look, grab your favorite eyelash curler, mascara, and falsies. Start by warming up your lash curler with a hairdryer. Then, curl your lashes and apply a few coats of volumizing mascara. Last, but certainly not least, pop on a dramatic pair of faux lashes. To conceal the lash strip, slick on a dramatic winged liner. Gloss That’s Poppin’

A glossy red lip is the epitome of quintessential Hollywood glamour. Hollywood royalty has been matching their lipstick to the red carpet for decades, so it’s no wonder that the lip look continues to be a celebrity staple. To master this classic, select a red lippie with a blue undertone, like Colourpop’s Blur Lux Lipstick in shade Solo. Using a skinny brush for the perfect application, apply the lipstick like a lip liner to prevent any feathering. Next, fill in the lines with the lipstick bullet, and finish it off by dabbing a clear lip gloss in the center of your pout. A red lip like this looks stunning with champagne eyeshadow and winged liner!
Nailed It

Nail art has become the newest accessorization craze on the red carpet. Since the 2018 MET Gala, where Ariana Grande wore miniature Sistine Chapel murals on her nails, celebrities have been upping the anti in the manicure department. From jewels and metallics to mattes and patterns, the options are endless! If you’re in the market for new nail colors, check out London Town’s stunning shades. Aside from being gorgeous, their Lakurs wear like gel polishes and are vegan friendly!
Big Hair Energy

Big, bodacious hair never goes out of style. Whether you’re headed to a red carpet event or just another day at the office, voluminous curly hair is the perfect way to show the world just how fierce you are. Prep for the look by washing your hair the night before with a frizz-taming product like Redken’s Frizz Dismiss shampoo. The following morning, get ready to start styling! If you’re hair is naturally straight, curl your strands with a medium barrel curling iron. Then, set your curls in place with a high-hold hairspray. If you were blessed with natural curls, try styling them with Deva Curl’s Ultra Defining Gel. Whatever your hair situation may be, when you’re rocking red carpet curls, go big or go home!
