5 Tips How to Look Good for Any Event
Preparing for a pageant, graduation, or any special event is time consuming and expensive, so adding additional steps to your beauty regime could be stressful. When choosing new steps for your beauty regime, make sure they are both efficient and effective. The goal is clean and healthy-looking skin, which is optimal on your big day! Your special event will be documented forever via pictures and selfies, so clear skin is a must on this day as filters can only do so much. Below are some of my favorite beauty tips that will compliment your Faviana dress beautifully, and have you looking flawless from head to toe!
1. Create the Perfect Lips
Choosing your lipstick to compliment your dress can be a lengthy process, however, your lips must be clean and moisturized in order for application to be flawless. Remove dead skin by mixing honey and salt in a small cup. Then, take a toothbrush and gently brush your lips in a circular motion in order to reach all areas of your lips. Once you are done, add facial moisturizer to them in order to keep them smooth. A great moisturizer is Clarins Exfoliating Body Scrub For Smooth Skin. Cocoa Butter and Baby oil can also be used as great moisturizers. Remember that your lips are skin, and should be treated as such. Exfoliated lips will also help your lipstick stay on throughout the night!
2. Whiten Your Smile
The perfect lips won’t be complete without some pearly whites. Since you will be smiling all night, make sure your teeth are ready for their debut. If you don’t have time to go to the dentist for a teeth whitening, you can accomplish whiter teeth at home. Crest White Strips are inexpensive and effective; start applying them 1 week before your big day.
3. Get Rid of Blemishes
A zit on the big day is a nightmare, however, you can make it less visible with an ice cube. Apply an ice cube on the zit for about 30 seconds to reduce the swelling. Next, apply eye drops (drops for red eyes work best) on a tissue and apply it to the zit. The drops will reduce the redness of the zit thus making it less noticeable. Once finished, apply moisturizer and proceed with your makeup routine. You will forget the zit was even there in the first place!
4. Dry Shampoo is Your Friend
When it comes to your special day, your hair is an important part of your finished look. If you want to achieve the beauty pageant hairstyle but lack volume in your hair, use dry shampoo! Use it even if your hair is clean; it will add body and volume to your hair. However, don’t spray the dry shampoo like you would hairspray since this will only form a white residue in your hair. Split your hair first down the center, then lift up your hair in two-inch sections and spray the roots. Make sure you hold the spray about 10-12 inches away. Next, use your hands to blend in the spray in order to minimize white residue. Finally, brush and style your hair. You will achieve instant volume! I recommend Suave Dry Shampoo with Keratin Infusion, which can be found at your local drugstore.
5. Watch What you Eat
The key to achieving flawless skin relies not only on your beauty regime but on your diet. It is important to stay away from sugars and salts, which will cause bloating. Gum chewing will also cause bloating, so refrain from chewing on your big day. If you are of age, steer clear of alcohol which also causes bloating, water retention, and dull skin. Opt for smaller portioned finger food, like sushi, mini sandwiches, or veggies. Preparing for your big day can be overwhelming and stressful, but you must remember to eat on your big day so you’ll be full of energy to dance the night away!
