Nonetheless, we can’t always have beautiful and cooperative weather as much as we want it. With the autumn season in full swing, we have to say goodbye to warm weather and prepare for cool rain. This may be an obvious answer, but not many people take advantage of it. New York City is home to many world-class museums. Some of these include The Met, The Museum of Natural History, and MoMA (Museum of Modern Art). You can easily spend all day dry and cozy in one, admiring masterpieces of art and design or engaging in the many wonders of the natural world. Your mind will not only be boggled, but certainly occupied for hours. You don’t even have to spend a lot to attend one if you’re on a budget, for many offer free admission or student discounts!
Rainy Day in NYC: Wander Through Madame Tussaud’s
If you want a more interactive museum, then this one’s for you. Madame Tussaud’s is the New York version of the famous London museum in Midtown, taking on “the face of the place.” The themed, interactive environments showcase nearly 200 masterfully crafted, lifelike wax figures. You’ll be amazed how realistic the figures look, presenting both New York’s most famous and infamous personalities, along with persons of international fame and acclaim. Even if you’ve been here before, it’s time to go back. They’re constantly adding new faces and changing the place up, so go see for yourself! Not to mention, you’ll have a collection of hilarious posed pictures with the models.
Rainy Day in NYC: Attend a Broadway Show
Whether you have attended a show before or not, there’s still endless plays out there to see. This is a perfect indoor activity that will keep you entertained for a few hours, watching talented stars act, sing, and dance before your eyes. They put on award-winning shows, better than any movie in the theaters. Opt for a classic such as The Lion King or Aladdin, or try Waitress or Wicked for a life-changing experience.
Rainy Day in NYC: Explore a New Food Place
You’ve seen famous food joints that are Instagram-worthy, many of which are right here in New York City. Stop drooling over the images and tagging your friends in it, for it’s time to go experience it together. Try the best brunch places such as the delicious mac & cheese from The Smith, or dine in for a famous milkshake by Black Tap. No matter which place you choose, you’ll be happy you finally got to go!
