We have all fantasized about prom day at one point, am I right?! Now that big day is quickly approaching and there is so much to think about from the dress, hair and makeup, and shoes to the photographs that are going to capture the memories from this special day. Pictures are one of the best parts of prom because they let you take the magic of prom and keep it alive forever.
You don’t want your only pictures from this special night to be taken in front of your house, but perhaps at one of the many gorgeous and iconic NYC landmarks. We have found a few of the best locations in NYC that are perfect for those pre-prom photos and we are going to share them with you.
Brooklyn Bridge Park
If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of Manhattan, but still have the familiar NYC landscape in your photos, than Brooklyn Bridge Park is the place for you. Brooklyn Bridge Park is full of different art pieces, flowers, rocks, and tourist attractions all of which have the backdrop of NYC’s tallest skyscrapers. One of the best parts of Brooklyn Bridge Park is that it looks picturesque in both the daytime and nighttime so no matter the time you get around to taking your pre-prom photos, you can rest assured that they are going to turn out gorgeous. The Highline
Let’s be honest. We all have that one friend who complains whether it be about the weather, school, or boys. While you might have to convince them to walk The Highline in high heels before prom, the pictures that are taken will look phenomenal. The Highline is a 1.45 mile stretch that starts in the Meatpacking District and ends on 34th street. I’m not expecting you to walk this entire stretch in your dress and heels because that’s crazy, but going up on The Highline for just a few minutes will provide the backdrop of city streets and buildings that will make your photographs memorable and totally Insta-worthy.
Times Square
Who has ever wanted their face on a billboard in Times Square?! I know I sure have. While you might not be able to get your gorgeous face up on a billboard for millions of people to see, going to Times Square to take your pre-prom photos will give you the opportunity to showcase your stunning dress to everyone in the city. The red steps are the next best thing to a red carpet and taking your pre-prom pictures on the red steps will make you feel high fashion like a celebrity. Not only will you stand out, but you will have the backdrop of iconic stores and buildings that will add a special touch to your pre-prom photos that you will treasure forever.
Cookie Do
If you want to show your sweet side in your pre-prom pictures, then you might want to consider going to a well known dessert place. I love bright colors and desserts, so Cookie Do NYC is the perfect place not only to grab a sweet treat before prom, but take some photos that will brighten up your Instagram feed. Cookie Do has a multi color polka dotted wall by the cash register which would be perfect for you to take some silly photos with your prom date or even those cliche romantic photos where you are spoon feeding each other some cookie dough. Central Park
Central Park is one of the most well known landmarks in NYC among locals and tourists alike.
