Simple & Sophisticated Makeup Look

Makeup is something that most girls can’t live without. There are so many looks and trends that come and go, but some never change. For a sophisticated makeup look, it is important not to overdo it. If you find yourself in need of a classy and sophisticated look, check out these makeup steps!

Sophisticated Makeup Step #1: Primer

Before starting your makeup look, make sure you moisturize your face and put primer on top. Primer smooths out the skin and makes sure that no makeup gets clogged in your pores. Then, put on eye primer to make sure your eyeshadow stay in place.

Sophisticated Makeup Step #2: Eyes

For your eye look, you may want to keep it simple with a just three shadows. First, apply neutral-tone shadow in the crease of the eye and blend it with an eyeshadow brush. Then, apply a nice and bright neutral shade on the whole eye and blend with a brush. Next, at the outer corners of the eye, apply a darker shade to give your eyes more dimension. Finally, apply black liner to the top of your eyelid. You have the option of adding a wing for some flair.

It is very important to complete your eye makeup before your face makeup, that way you can wipe the excess eyeshadow off your face without ruining your face makeup. Also, eyeliner is something that may be difficult to do, especially if you do a winged liner look. It takes many people multiple tries to get it correct, and if you had face makeup on, you would have to reapply it. Once the eyeliner is complete, apply natural looking false eyelashes on top of your own. Curl your lashes with the false ones and apply mascara to make sure your lashes are together.

Sophisticated Makeup Step #3: Face

The next step is to apply foundation in the shade that it closest to your skin tone. For a flawless airbrushed finish, apply the foundation with a beauty blender instead of a brush. It’s important to apply the foundation down the neck of an even, consistent color. If blemishes are still visible, apply a concealer that is the same color as your foundation over the blemish spots. After that, apply your concealer that is two shades lighter than your skin tone under your eyes, down the bridge of your nose, and up to the forehead. When applying the concealer under the eyes, make sure it is in a triangle shape. Once applied, blend it out with a beauty blender for the best results. It is important to highlight the areas of your face where the sun naturally hits. To avoid creasing under the eyes, apply a translucent powder under the eye and let it sit for 1-2 minutes, then wipe off the excess powder.

Sophisticated Makeup Step #4: Contour

Now it’s time to contour! Apply the contour with a contour brush right under the apples of the cheeks, forehead, and jawline. Contouring adds dimension to your face and makes it look slimmer. After contouring, add some warmth to your face by adding bronzer in the same areas as the contour. For some color to the face, add a subtle blush to the apples of the cheeks. To add some glow, apply soft highlight to your cheekbones and the tip of your nose. Then apply a red or neutral lip color to the lips. Last but not least, apply a setting spray all over the face so your makeup can last all day!
