Remember Katherine Heigl in 27 Dresses? Whenever we think of it, our thoughts go immediately into her character’s closet, filled to the brim with bridesmaid dresses that were once adored, only used once and then never again. Honestly? Tragic.
If that’s you (although we found hard to believe that anyone would want to be a bridesmaid 27 times, but hey, you do you!) then get ready for our tips on how to rewear your bridesmaid dress from wedding to ready-to-wear once again.
If you’ve worn a style similar to this chiffon v neck dress to a wedding recently, this look could work for you. It’s great because you probably already have most of the additional items in your closet already.
All you need is your favorite oversized t-shirt and a pair of laid-back shoes like Converse, Vans or even some cool sandals. Throw the t-shirt on top of your dress and loosely knot it on the side to create a waistline and skirt effect. If you feel like your dress is too long you can even get it hemmed so your cute shoes stick out. This look would work even better with beach-waves as a hairstyle or a messy bun.
This dress is so fun to wear! Why wouldn’t you want to style it twice? Since this short faille satin dress has an open back, it might not be appropriate for all daytime occasions. However, we think this dress would look awesome if you just throw a nice jacket on top of it.
A great fitted jean jacket would definitely make this dress more wearable during the day, paired with some chunky open-toe platform sandals or cute loafers. We are thinking weekend brunch date with your friends, but then again, we are always up for Girls Night Out!
This style may require a bit more work to make it ready-to-wear, but we promise it will be totally worth it! Faviana Style 7943 is a floor length gown, so you’ll want to have it tailored to stay form fitting and hit just above the knee.
After you have your gorgeous gown turned mid length, you can accessorize however you want. But we think this would look amazing with your go-to leather jacket and a pair of black patent leather stilettos for a night out. Or even better, swap the stilettos for a pair of combat style boots if you are going for a more casual, grungy look.
A classic little black dress should be a staple in your closet and that is exactly what Faviana Style 7850 is about to become for you. A really unique way to change up the style or look of a dress is to add a full midi circle skirt on top of an already form fitting cocktail style dress.
Then you can choose how dressed up you want to make this style when selecting your shoes. A simple pointed toe flat would make this workplace appropriate or a stylish sneaker could take you on weekend errands.
It’s all about accessorizing
The easiest and most fun way to make your bridesmaid dress more wearable is to accessorize it differently! We love how Amber from Indy Style TV chose to accessorize her Faviana Style 7752.
The hot pink belt with bow detail makes the gown more ready-to-wear while the matching colored heels make it pop and seem more vibrant. She topped the look off by throwing her hair up in a classy bun which created a sophisticated yet laid back look. Want to make it even more different? Try cutting it! Although, we do really recommend to go to a seamstress for this.
