Whether you want to spend the love-themed holiday with a significant other, your best friends or your family, New York City has endless opportunities for fun, cheap, and adventures activities to do on Valentine’s Day. Here at Faviana we have gathered a list of our favorite things to do in NYC, which could be made a date or just fun day with friends. This is not a typical Valentine’s Day activities list, and we hope you love our ideas!
Hayden Planetarium
Both educational and fun, a visit to the Planetarium is great for any age. For a date it can be a cozy and romantic experience, or bring the whole family for a great afternoon activity. The Planetarium is located inside the Rose Center for Earth and Space in the American Museum of Natural History, which allows for extended fun after the star show. The museum is located on the West Side of Central Park, so after your museum visit, take a stroll outside for a bit of fresh air and grab a snack!
Brooklyn Botanical Gardens
Regardless of the season, the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens are an incredible sight. Bring a date for a romantic get-together, or bring your best friends for great people watching along the garden paths. There are many enclosed and heated areas if New York February weather occurs, but also plenty of outdoor space for a crisp winter walk. This is a great place to work on your photography skills, or take a cute selfie!
The Cliffs at LIC
Not for the faint of heart, this rock climbing gym located in Long Island City is a great way to get some exercise in while spending time with your favorite people. The gym offers one day passes, monthly learn-how-to-climb courses, and group clinics. No experience is needed, and any required equipment is available to rent for a reasonable price. This is a great way to burn some calories and learn a new skill on Valentine’s day!
Broadway
Whether you’re a musical buff or love a good drama, or have no show experience at all, Broadway is a great way to spend Valentine’s Day. Tickets can be found for cheap through apps and giveaways throughout the city, and you are bound to find a performance to suit any taste. Dress up in your favorite fancy outfit, add some glamorous lipstick and you have yourself a date night!
Top Of The Rock
Whether you live in NYC or are just visiting for Valentine’s Day, taking a trip up to the Top of the Rock is always fun. Take your date for a gorgeous view of the city, then to a nice dinner in the area after. Make sure to take pictures, as many believe this is the best place to truly appreciate the New York City skyline.
Art Classes
Taking art classes is a great way to creatively expand your mind, while spending quality time with friends and loved ones. This is a great Mother/Daughter activity as well, and a great way to explore new hobbies. There are art classes offered all over the city featuring everything from painting to pottery. Make it a weekly thing and see if art is your new calling!
