Dramatic Hair: How To Make Dramatic Hair At Home

2018.11.20

We love to be all about the dramatic style here at Faviana! We firmly believe in the phrase go big or go home, and love to show it in our style. When it comes to hair, dramatic means bigger and bolder styles. If you are headed to an event where you have a dramatic entrance, or where a red carpet is possible, this is the time to bring the drama! Whether you go for an updo or big curls, make the look your own and rock it. Here are our best tips on how to achieve fabulous and dramatic hair ah home!

Dramatic Hair: Volume

Big, voluminous hair will never go out of style. If you want ultimate drama, tease your hair at the crown for some added “umph,” and curl or roll your hair into big beachy waves. Use a volumizing spray to create curl definition, and be sure to curl some pieces to frame your face. If you want a look that stays out of your face, try pinning a few pieces back away from your face to create a subtle hair crown.

Dramatic Hair: Faux Hawk

For the rocker-chic girl headed out on the town, this faux hawk look is an edgy twist on a classic updo. Easy to achieve at home or in the salon, this look is dramatically fabulous. It is best if done with longer hair, but for shorter hair try a series of small buns to give you that faux hawk volume! For a touch of glam in this look, try clipping back fly-aways with a bejeweled bobby pin.

Dramatic Hair: Pin Straight Hair

Kim Kardashian is known for her severe style with a center part and pin straight locks. This look can be both chic and dramatic. To achieve this look, blow dry the hair straight with a center part, before using an iron to straighten out the locks. Use a gel or straightening product to smooth hair away from the part. The key to this look is finishing off with hairspray to keep the frizz down all night long.

Dramatic Hair: Slicked Back Pony

A power ponytail is already a statement in itself, but add a little gel and you have a ponytail that really brings the drama. Using a strong gel, pull your hair back into a tight pony at the center back of your head, and secure it with a strong elastic. Straighten the end for an edgy look, and don’t forget to wrap a piece of hair around the pony to hide the elastic!

A dramatic look is all about the attitude, so make sure you rock some confidence with that look! These styles are red carpet ready, they are just waiting for you to add your signature look.
