Our Favorite Polished Hairstyles

Maybe you’re going out for a night on the town, or maybe you just want some new inspo for school or the office. Rocking a polished and sophisticated hairstyle will instantly boost your confidence and make you feel totally chic. We’ve rounded up a list of some of our favorite hairstyles that are sure to make you feel stunning.

Low Bun

A low bun is the perfect hairstyle to wear to upscale social events and fashionable parties. It’s an absolute classic that has been donned by the likes of Sarah Hyland, Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian. We recommend trying this hairstyle right after you leave the shower when your hair is wet for the best results. To make sure the final product is sleek and polished, use a handful of bobby pins and a strong hold hairspray to keep the look in place all day.

Polished Braid

We love braids because their classic sophistication never go out of style. One of our favorite braided looks is the timeless French braid since it’s classy enough for a night out but is also versatile enough to be worn during the day as a statement hairstyle. To add an edge to the ultra-feminine hairstyle, we suggest pairing your braid with a body-con blouse that has a high neckline. When braiding your hair, make sure you keep the sections loose in your hands. Also, don’t pull your hair too snug so that you can further create a textured, dimensional look.

Middle Part

We are falling head-over-heels for the middle part trend that has been popping up all over red carpets for the past couple of months. We think that this style works well with just about any outfit; evening gowns and jeans can both be complimented by a simple middle part. To go about rocking this hairstyle, it’s important to add volume to your roots by using heated or velcro rollers. When you first wake up, put your rollers in and cover your hair with a shower cap or a towel. After going about your typical morning routine, take out the curlers, lightly comb through your hair with your fingers, and spritz in a little hairspray. To nail the middle part, draw an imaginary line from the tip of your nose to your hairline, then use the tooth of a comb to create a flawless part.

Wavy Side Bob

The wavy side bob hairstyle is perhaps one of the most versatile ways to style short hair. The style will work perfectly with straight hair, wavy tresses, or curly locks. To create a vintage-inspired wavy side bob, begin by making a deep side part in your hair. Then, curl large sections of your hair and pin up the cooling curls into pin curls. When each curl has cooled completely, remove the pin curls and spray your hair with some lightweight hairspray. Your hair should fall into gorgeous waves super that will leave you feeling chic and sophisticated.

Straight and Slick

If you’re a fan of editorial chic, then you’ll love the straight and slick look. For the past two years, celebs have been obsessed with this hairstyle, and of course, we are too. The best part of this style, aside from how easy it is to achieve, is that it’s the perfect way to wear your hair if you decided to skip a wash. To begin, depending on your hair texture, use a straightening iron or dampen your hair with a spray bottle. Then, use a toothbrush or a fine tooth comb dipped in gel or spritzed with hairspray to mold your style into place. Brush through the ends of your hair and add a little shine spray to finish off the look. If you rock this bold style, you’re sure to feel ready to conquer the day ahead.
